Case Study: Fountain TV 2017-03-09T15:02:21+00:00

Challenges

Home of the X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent, this high-profile TV studio became our client in 1998.  Due to the dynamic nature of the television industry, the venue required 24-hour reliability, 365 days of the year. They needed assurance that they could call on us even on a Saturday evening, if necessary, due to peak audience viewing during the live entertainment shows. We were thrilled to land this contract with one of the UK’s foremost recording studios and determined to ensure they were delighted with our products and services.

Dataphone’s Solution

We installed an NEC system, which Fountain Studios loved because they could make changes to the programming themselves – a vital necessity in their powerful business operation. All system support calls were handled quickly and efficiently by the Dataphone team, including at weekends and on bank holidays, which were some of the studio’s busiest times.

The system’s flexibility was ideal for their requirements; combined with the outstanding product reliability and our consistent 24/7 service, it served them well for 19 years.

Fountain has been with Dataphone for nearly 13 years now and in that time I have always found their service to be prompt and thorough. The service contract with Dataphone has given me total piece of mind.”
Chris Cooper (2011)

“it’s a shame BT don’t have such good customer service as Dataphone.”
Craig Church (2015)

Results, Return on Investment and Future Plans

Sadly, it was announced in 2016 that the famous studios would be closing. X Factor and the other popular TV programmes that had called Fountain TV their home would, in future, be filmed elsewhere. We’re proud that the original system we installed in 1998 lasted the full 19 years until the site’s closure.

Our constant commitment to delivering outstanding customer service and excellent value has left us with long-standing business relationships with the communications team from the defunct studio. We’re so glad that, when it comes to telephone provision, they considered us to have the X Factor!
